Why Can’t We All Just Get Along?

“It would now be technically possible to unify the world, abolish war and poverty altogether, if men desired their own happiness more than the misery of their enemies.”

Bertrand Russell (1872 – 1970)

  1. There’s a reason the digs are so swanky, they bleed followers of all their money. On your next visit, get a price list for their classes. It’s a pyramid scheme and each level costs a bundle. One of my friends lost all of his retirement savings. Beware.

    • Too many walls in all the wrong places, not enough walls in the right ones. Perhaps I am a naive dreamer, but I do not think it is impossible for humanity to return to a sustainable way of living, even including a sustainable way of waging war. We would need a drastic change in values, which can happen over a long period of time (hopefully before we destroy ourselves).

    • Could you explain more? Because expanding our problems to another rock in the solar system won’t get to the root of our problems. It would be like giving a colorful placating bandaid to a child after giving him a horrendous beating.

      • đŸ™‚ Well sure, there is that.

Point being while we’re stuck here either naval gazing or starring at each other we’re always going to fight. If, however, we can get something else to look at, something outside ourselves then we might just be able to break that chain of violence. Gotta’ have hope, right?
