Lesson Quickie: Cinco de Mayo

GET YOUR HISTORY STRAIGHT:

Cinco de Mayo (May 5th, in case you somehow didn’t know) is not a celebration of Mexican independence.

It commemorates the against-odds victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. Mexican Independence Day is September 16th.

Quickie Wrap-up:

God is not always on the side of the larger army.
