Laughing – When I’m the Actual Joke

Knitting circles, RenFaire participants, book clubbers, dungeons & dragons players, those nerds on The Big Bang Theory, etc. What losers, eh?

Hold the phone. Who am I to laugh at them, when they’re the ones who have found a community – a tribe – in this society of isolationists? How funny that we have been trained to laugh at the “socially inept” – those who come together on a regular basis to share their common interests, forging human bonds, and attaining emotional satisfaction and release. Socially inept, indeed.

And here I am laughing. In a corner. By myself.

The world doesn’t always laugh with you when you’re just a lonely asshole.
